Processwork

I love Processwork for it’s creative, broad and lively way it supports deep exploration of the more unknown parts of ourselves and the world. Process Work follows feedback, bringing awareness and curiosity to experiences. It finds deep wisdom in disturbances, dreams and body symptoms.

History

Dr Arnold Mindell developed Processwork the 1970s and 80s, at the Jung Institute in Zurich. He noticed a correlation between peoples dreams and their body symptoms. He broadened the Jungian dreamwork approach, exploring different sensory channels. Later it was expanded to include group process which Arnold Mindell called ‘Worldwork’. Processwork continues to grow and develop too this day.

Roots of Processwork

Processwork grows like a tree from the roots of Jungian Psychology, Physics and Earth based practices. Its development has been inspired by many indigenous cultures’ wisdom. Most notably the Indigenous Australian knowledge of Dreamtime and the Chinese philosophy and practices of Taoism. I personally hold deep gratitude for the Earth wisdom that has been drawn from these cultures and am also aware of the deep debt that is owed.  I hope that in my own practice I can begin to give a little of that back.
